For some weird reason my 2000 TJ VRXs trip computer continues to reset itself at 19:55 (19 hours and 55 minutes). It has done this twice in a row and I am approaching this again. When it hits this mark, it beeps and the display flashes before resetting. What is going on?

Mine did this too once. I think it's designed to do that. Might even be mentioned in the owner's manual if i remember correctly?

i think what is beeping at you, is the rest reminder!
rest time by default is 2hours, at which time it will beep at you until you put the car into park AND turn the car off. it is the total time that the car is in the "on" (engine running) time.

check your owners manual on how to reset it.

Nah that isn't it. First time it did it was 45 seconds after we started the car to go to work. We had just turned the first corner.

Nothing weird there.Trip computer will automatically reset after 20 hours traveling time. The display will flash and give an audible warning of the approaching reset at 19.55 hours.
Same thing will happen at 2000 km distance traveled. Display will flash and give audible warning of the approaching reset at 1995 km.
