Hi,

I have this very annoying problem and I was hoping that someone can help.
Sometimes the sound from the front speaker (on the driver's side) goes low in level.

It's not the radio or the wiring behind the radio
so I am thinking it could be the speaker wiring or the speaker itself.

Has anyone come across this problem before?
How do I check the speaker?
Does the speaker grill come off or do I have to take the door trim off to get to the speaker?

Many thanks.

sounds like the wiring at the speaker to me....to check you will have to take the door trim off. there are about 3 screws then it pops off, i'm sure there is a tutorial on here somewhere. from there it is straight forward. check the wiring and the condition of the speakers.

awesome
Thanks for the reply.
I have looked at taking the trim off but it's not exactly obvious.
Do you know where these tutorials are?
Cheers

actually I have found many threads explaining the process
thanks anyway.

Edit: Here are my findings.
I have taken the door trim off and I was able to reproduce the problem by tapping on the speaker. Moving the wires didn't make any difference.
It was all pointing towards the speaker so I started removing the speaker screws.

As soon as I got to the bottom screws the problem went away.
What was happening is the speaker was pushing hard against the wires
and it was causing this low level problem.

I checked the wires and they did look bent & crashed at the point where
they were going under the speakers but they were not cut.
I wiggled the cable but could not reproduce the problem so I straightened the wires out
and moved the sus section away from the speaker.

I put the screws back in, fitted door trim etc and all is well.

Cheers
