i found one post about someone having 8" subs for the front speakers in the front doors...
ive seen low sitting subs around and wonder wat ur thought are on this (weather to do or not) and if anyone knows the diamention that u can fit b4 a custom mount is needed...

if it was me i wouldnt put a sub in the drivers door
the only things subs do is produce bass
a decent set of 6 1/2" splits running off a good amp is all you need
and maybe some sound deadening too ;)

i got 9" Morel elates in there behind stock trims others have 8" Dynaudios. (beware only 9" elates will fit due to the shape, i imagine a few 8" midbass/sub drivers will fit in there though. Just check for clearance first

Go for it. But you'll need lots of deadening. Getting the speaker in is the easy part, stopping the rattles is a nightmare and took me months.

Deaden front and back skins with dynamat
Deaden back of trim with sound off (paint)
Deaden back of trim inserts with S/O
Fill window winder with concrete/ S/O to add weight/ reduce resonance
Blu tack and electrical tape lock rods to stop rattles
Fill access cavities with MDF seal, and deaden, to seperate front and back wave
Acoustic tiles to stop reflections (good for SQ imo, bad if you want it loud)
Tighten every bolt in the door
Mount the woofer on 12mm mdf,
Bolt mdf baffle to the door, seal this against the door trim with closed cell foam (weatherstrip)
Seal the door trim against the door with closed cell foam
Removed plastic stops on the windows for more clearancebehind the woofer (only need one to keep the window in)
Redid cabling
Removed most of the stock grille plastic on the inside of the door trim (only need the screws in there to hold it on)

If you want bass up front its a lot of work, but a good pay off and my doors look like any other magna

edit: oh and keep in mind Im running three way, you would really want to run 3 way if you have big drivers up front as they do a hopeless job of producing midrange.

Food for thought

yeah sounds like ALOT of work,
i had a feeling sound deadening would be an issue..
i think ill just get some good 6"1/2s for the moment...
and wen i have more $$$ ill look into 9" Morel elates or the 8" Dynaudios...
which would u guys recomend??

oh and how much money would i be looking at for the 9" Morel elates or the 8" Dynaudios and deadening??

OK so whats that... $250x2... $500 for sub's
$70x2.... $140 for mids
$25x2.... $50 for tweets
$200........... for sound deadening
$200 amp
$50 for wiring......... Just for the front doors

no to mention the custom mounts..... Like i said a magna!

EDIT: get some decent front 6.5 splits and put a sub in the boot!

im using hertz space 8's, they are a great negotiation between wanting a large driver to deliver great midbass, but at the same time still being able to play up to 4000hz, meaning there is no need for a dedicated midrange driver, maintaining a simple 2 way setup.

This really does a lot to cut down setup costs and about 80% of the setup and tuning time :)

$200 amp

All that effort in the install and those expensive components would be completely wasted with a $200 amp.

And if you want serious bass you will probably still want a bigger sub in a box anyway. And you will have to find room for your midrange in the door somewhere

yeah i think ill go with the 6 1/2" splits...
already got 2 12" subs in the boot.. just thought subs in the front doors would be kewl but not worth the expense... would probly end up costing the same as what i payed for my car lol
