Hey Guys,

As some of you know, i have bought a 380VRX and love it!!

Just wondering, those of you with a sunroof when you have it just 'tilted' up at the back and you put it back down, does it vibrate on the way down?

The dealer I bought it from told me this was 'normal' and that they all do it.

I am just wanting to confirm this or is he speaking bull****?

Thanks,

Paul

Nah mine has never done that i'd say you've been fed a line i'd take it back and tell them to fix it.

Mine does it but is suspect all it needs is a lube. Take it into the dealer and get them to lube it up.

Yep,

Mine does it also. I am due for the 30K service and will be getting them to apply some silicon grease to the rails. It doesn't happen every time for me but most often. Cheers...

Mine does it too - reported it at 15K service.

Dealer told me headlining needs to be removed to fix it (I can see they have put grease on it already to subdue it, which has made a slight improvement), and they will need the car for a full day.

No mention of cost so I assume this is warranty work.

If anyone has had it fixed, let us know what the cause and solution is - I'd rather try and fix it myself if it is simple to save me having to swap cars with the wife, change kid seats over etc...

Mine hasn't done it yet... though I've only had it for 3 weeks and I hardly ever use the sunroof (mainly cos it's always raining here) But I take it this is something I should be on the lookout for?

I know this is an old post, but I get this chatter when closing from tilt.

Anyone discover what it is, and why on earth would the dealers say they need the car for a whole day and even take the roof lining off to repair?

just lube it up with white lithium grease

it is going to happen and in the OP the dealer is correct it is normal but damn its so annoying

Mine is noisy/juddery on closing but nothing too worrying. I used a stick of drylube and it smoothed it out considerably.

I believe silicon grease can react with certain plastics?

Mine vibrated badly when closing as well. I used a small amount of black grease on all the tracks and other moving parts which helped considerably. Just a very slight shudder now.
