ok this is annoying the crap outa me
just had my ECU out of the car and it all "seems" good (no smells and no scorch marks on board)
now as far as mods to this thing go the only thing i have done is spliced in a push button start since the ignition barrel i bought had a dodgey connection and wouldn't start by the key.
The push button start i have is simple and crude where it takes 12volts directly from the battery into the cabin and to 1 terminal on switch.
second terminal goes to solenoid of starter motor.
only issue i have found is that it will start in any gear as long as it has ignition on at key

for about the last 3 weeks my car has been sitting out the side of the house whilst i try to figure out what has caused it to stop running

symptoms are
cranks fine but has no spark
new coil = no spark
now this problem is intermittant as i have said on another thread about the same thing as in it sometimes wants to start but seems to be out of petrol (3/4 tank)
ecu and fuel pump relays are both working and after about 30 secs of cranking i can smell petrol so it's getting fuel

now is it possible i have tripped the factory imobiliser and that is the reason i'm getting no spark?
if so how do i remove this lil bugger and what should i be looking for?
in the calais it's a key switch that's easily bypassed and i'm hoping it's the same deal here

pls help here guys cos this thing is about to recieve a VIP invitation to a bonfire

car is a 95 TS V6 auto exec with no keyless entry

You need to understand that if the pick up in the dist does not tell the ECU to trigger the coil then you have nothing.

Get a NOID light, test for injector pulse. If you have injector pulse your dist is fine and the issue is the ECu is not telling the coil to pulse thus no spark.

this can be caused by a broken wire between the coil and ecu, use a multimeter to test the wire off the ECU plug to the coil. Could be the coil itself or the ignition module

If you are getting no fuel injector pulse, you need to dig deeper such as dist pick up etc.

You can hear the relays clicking, does nto mean that they are working, if the internal contact is corroded or simply arced, the relay will be cactus
