Give it a good clay bar, polish and wax, and a new bootlid which is $50 and you'll have a pretty good nick car by the sounds of it.
Man $700 is a freeken awesome price

You my friend have scored yourself a nice deal, like the others have said the boot can be replaced for a small amount, so it shouldn't be a problem, all the best with her may she serve you well, welcome to the forum

Water pump isnt overly expensive. Dont be scared to phone up atleast the 4 main companies.... Repco, veals, super cheap and motortraders/coventries. gotta get the best price!

If you're doing it yourself, and its a 4cylinder, it can be done for under $100 including a hose kit (this is a must if they havent been done in a while). The v6's are a little more tricky to do.
Congrats on the car! sounds like a good score. Get some photos of the beast up asap buddy! :D

The v6's are a little more tricky to do.I should say it's a V6 from the sounds of it. The water pump itself might be say around the $80 mark, but it's the labor involved that's a bit of a bitch. The water pump is located in the valley between the two heads, pretty sure all the timing stuff has to come off to get to it, so best off doing the timing belt and seals replacement at the same time, which would be due at 200K.
When I got mine done, I think these (pump, seals, & timing) came to around $400 to get replaced (including labour).
I guess it depends on whether you have the know-how and facilities to do it yourself, labour is the main cost here.
PS. Do a search for the service manual pdf download, I think it was mentioned somewhere relatively recently, so shouldn't be too hard to track down.

He said it was a TR (1991)... and being an SE i'd say its a 4cyl. Only the TS SE was offered in a V6. :)
So no need to worry about timing belt dramas :).

V6 Came into the TR range in 1993 so it's possible to get a V6 TR SE, but that doesn't count for him anyway.
