hey all

before i get shot down in flames, i did do a search, and did find some information but in places / threads they where contridicted back and forth.

anyhow, here goes.

i have read in some posts here, that *some* KJII came with electric passenger seats? can someone confirm yes or no on that one?
as i would like to go hunting for electric passenger seat to go in my KL (KJ seats will fit/bolt into the KL im pretty sure without too much drama)

and also - the big one that i really want - memory seating for the drivers seat, as i occasionally let the other half drive the car - occasionally that is, and the seat gets moved in every which direction possible, and frankly, it pisses me off no end.

Diamante's appear to have drivers memory lekki seats (in the KL at least), but obv i dont *really* want to go through the expense and hassle of buying from OS and importing the things back into AU.
i understand that there was no australian spec'd verada in the range that got memory drivers seat?

if not, do you think it would be possible to use say a holden or a ford lekki base with memory and just put the verada seats on that?
only issue with that one im seeing, is where it gets its memory from (where its stored etc) and mounting.
would it therefore be possible to make the mirrors memory as well for each setting?
im guessing that would be a no to that one, as i doubt there would be a 'signal' wire there to head to the mirrors to tell them where to move to etc.

IMO - memory seats are the only big thing missing from a verada - would really complete the package, and certainly keep me happier in the having to readjust the seat all the time! lol

thoughts?

cheers

i forgot about the airbag - some KJII's where optioned with pass side airbags though right, so it would just be a task of hunting them down.
i didnt know that KL/W Xi pass seats could also be electric - so il start looking for them first.

sunroof is a no go for me, i wont fit in the car with a sunroof, i need the extra headroom that a sunroof would take up. i know its only a couple of centimeters of roof space it takes up, but still, makes me fitting in the car a little hard - and i tend to have to drive along with my head sticking out of the sunroof! lol

cheers :)

Wasn't even an option on the KJ's I'm 99% sure (airbag). You'll have to find a KL or KW Xi. Electric drivers has been standard on the Xi verada since the beginning. Pretty sure all TL/TW's have electric drivers, pretty sure the KL/KW Xi's have memory.

Can't you just say electric seats rather than 'lekki' or something dude... If someone tries to search for this thread (if it's ever relevant) then they are probably not going to search for 'lekki'.

sorry - i just couldnt be bothered typing electric instead of lekki.

can a mod please change thread title to the correct word? unless i am able to do it - im not sure how to though. (yeah im slack i know)
EDIT - changed it myself, wasnt that hard afterall! lol
EDIT (2) - it didnt change the thread title, just the first post title

my KL has the 10-way(i thought the GTVi got the 10way standard, and it was an option on the the rest?) adjustable electric seat - i just want to add memory to it as well to make driver change less annoying.

i might go hunt down a wrecker near me here and see if they havve anything KL / KW passenger electic and drivers memory that i can steal.

cheers :)

No KJ's had airbargs in the seats.

KJII Xi + KL/KW Xi had electric passenger seats.

No AU delivered Magna/Veradas in any of the above formats or their lesser models had drivers seat position memory function. Which they should have had - the 380 now does.

also - re the electric passenger seats: im not 100% sure if they were fully adjustable like the drivers - may have only been the seat base..

i completely forgot about the diamante having the buttons on the drivers door for the seats - i kinda knew they where there... but didnt if that makes sence.

might *try* to get a hold of an electric seat with memory and see what i can get rigged up re the memory function.
something to think about i guess.

definatly going to get the Xi interior - so that i have full leather and the electic passenger seat.
will also give me a 'spare' seat base to play around with to see if i can come up with anything for a memory - which i doubt, but gotta try at least!

i was thinkin of putting 380gt seats into my kl but dunno if theyll fit, airbags should have same/similar connections or prob easier to strip the 380 seat n swap onto the kl seat base
