My Gparents got me a manual 4 my car the other day, only thing is they got the wrong one. They got a TM 85/86 manual, But I have a TP 89. are they at all diff?
Does the TM one cover the EFI systems? The removal procedure for the center console is different also. I'm sure there are hundreds of differences, best bet is to get a TP one.

most will apply.
stuff that wont be covered in the TM manual that comes to mind.
*TM didn't have EFI
*Transmissions different - TM Manual has a vac controlled 5th, TN/TP has a proper 5speed box, Automatics have slightly different boxes
*wiring diagrams are a little different (ie, different colours... not many though)
*TM manual covers leaded models, only the TM was available with a Leaded motor

Nah your thinking of the gregoies/haynes mauals which don't go into much detail.
Where as the factory one are a thick binder like 10-15cm thick and show you how to rebiuld almost any part of your 1st gen. for example they will show you with pictures/and writen discription how to completly disassemble and assemble your engine where as the gregoies is lucky to show you how to change a head gasket.
o'lfart has one of those  and there not easy to come by.
i have both TM and TP manuals scanned into my pc.

:stoopid: X2. Are they the factory ones bill?? cos i could really use a copy. gotta pull the tp's engine in the next few months to do the chains and fit my complete gasket/seal set and that would come in really handy. let me know if you can shoot us a copy:D
