today i got the ball rolling for something big.
my last car a 92 wagon had a pretty big set up.
but now i have the verada which has dash and door speakers and aswell as 6*9ers in the back shelf.!
bought a whole new set of 6" and 6*9 Apline speakers, got 4" kenwoods for the dash and an /////Alpine HU CDM-9801..
In the next few weeks i've got 2 Type S 12" subs in a custom made dual box and a /////Alpine mono block and an /////Alpine 4 channel coming in, depending on how busy work gets!
so the plans are going big!!!
sounds like its gonna be a killer sys.. Although i woulda gone 6" instead of the 6x9.. you have got your bass from the 12", 6x9 distort to easy to make them worth it.
Can't wait to see the install!!!!!!
As long as we all get a listen when it's all done! :D

i would be using 6x9s in the back so to fill up the gaps. Or else they (installers) will be dicking around to fill in the gaps. Any decent installers will set the crossovers so the low freq. sounds wont be going through the 6x9s and will go to the sub instead.
If you like alpine stuff, i wouldnt be getting goons that cant even get an account with alpine in the first place to do your install( strathfield). Alpine doesnt give away accounts to anyone these days, Jb Hifi cant even get one...so that tells you how much pride the have in their gear and who installs it

This would be a very high quality install, got any pics of the gear going in?

just put 3.3 milifarad 100mV resistor on the + terminal, it kills the bass out of my 6x9. now the sub sounds a lot more better :D
regardless.. a 6" cone will always sound tighter than a 6x9"... not hard to make a bracket... each to their own..

I think what he meant was that 6x9s distort because they are a non-circular design cone and hence flexes. Square, hexagonal, pentagonal etc speakers don't have this problem because they are still a radial shape.
