View Full Version : Slight Shudder on Acceleration

As I'm driving the Verada more and more I'm noticing little things with it that I'm not sure are normal. It has a slightly shaky idle, which from reading other threads, could be solved with a decent service and injector clean. But I've also noticed that when I accelerate from an intersection (hard or normal acceleration) the car shudders a little bit. This seems to be worse going uphill and seems to even out after 3-5 seconds. It's not noticable to passengers (at least "The Wench" says she can't feel it  ) but I notice it because everything else about the car is smooth. Any Ideas?

its known to happen if you have your car lowered a fair bit.

It could also be a cracked/broken engine mount.

Car is ridiculously low, yet another reason to raise it, thanks for the reply, I had expected replies like "your transmission is rooted" or something more expensive, thats a heaps better problem to fix.

your transmission is rooted

no, its a lowering thing. most of the guys with a fair bit of lowering have the exact same problem.

in fact, i lowered my sis's TF a while back, did the same thing.

replace with the stock parts, it was fine

haha, thanks for that lol

That's weird, but fine by me if thats all that wrong with it. Who knew that lowering a car could cause such a random issue? I got told by the mechanic who did my roadworthy that it will also chew through tyres quicker because its so low........won't be wasting money on Perelli's again if thats the case, lol.

it lowering the car would cause ur wheels to angle inwards and wear unevenly

u can fix this by getting a camber kit to help straighten them

and also regular rotation of tyres

Nup, but it seems to be all the rage at the moment judging by the posts, so I might give it a go in the next few weeks, lol, I'm just as happy to stick with the suspension reasoning though, it's easier and requires no effort on my part.
