You call 'that' metal shavings?! lol Hah! (you should've seen my auto trans sump magnets :P)
Nothing wrong with that at all buddy. Just normal wear. :D
Did you change the filter at all?

:bowrofl:
My old KE had metal paste in it after 5000km, so a few little shavings like that are nothing to worry about.
BTW the KE's gearbox ran fine 99% of the time aswell.
I changed my manual box oil early and the plug was like hairy, you got nothing to worry about there.

I did mine a few weeks ago and found similar deposits on the plug. No real misbehaviour symptoms before and my fluid was prolly darker than yours. Runs like a Lexus LS now tho lol

I remember the first oil change I did on another car of mine - not the Magna - and the magnet on the plug looked like it had grown hair. So to be on the safe side I put a magnet stick up the drain to get as much of the 'filings' out as I could. Imagine my surprise when I managed to pull out a broken syncro circlip

I think it is the sump plug that does not have a magnet that you have to worry about. I put a couple of extra magnets in anyway but my last inspection revealed what looked like an oily cats furball. By the way, if you decide to put extra magnets in and have an alloy sump, attach the magnet to a non moving steel part in the box and make sure there is clearance so it does not interfere with any other parts.

Perfectly normal.
Thats why the sump plug is a magnet so it gets all the loose bits like that and they arent hanging around in your gears..:)
