Is that a decent price for this KF Verada Xi? Consider the fact I live in Townsville and everything here is at least $1,000 more expensive than anywhere else :doubt:

Thanks guys :)

Not bad. Looks nice and clean, and it's already got all the good gear.

You could probably get him down somewhere around the $8,500-$9,000 mark; Redbook has guides of $5,500 to $7,100.

My wife's KF Ei with 115k was the same price 2-3 years ago! I think it looks good, but the price needs to drop.

Hypothetically speaking, if I were to offer $9,000 for said vehicle, would it be a good buy? I mean, despite being a 1998 model, I believe it's a better buy than say, my brother's 1998 323 that he got for $2,000 more...

Plus it's Townsville... nobody owns a Verada up here :doubt:

just before you do said drive - give it a quick service, air flilter, oil & filter etc, so you know its done :P

just on a sidenote: mackay tax is higher than townsville tax :P

I'd rather it be local, a lot of cbf factor, plus I have it immediately, and I hate driving long distances without a good stereo/aux input for ipod.

Can we answer the question please... rather than suggesting me alternatives...

Seems a bit steep compared to the prices of the ones I've been looking at, but it is in excellent nick based on the photos, and if they're hard to come by, its probably worth the asking price. Down here you can get a KH Xi for that money, hell even a KJ, but if you don't want to travel (like I don't), go for it, or at least go round and have a look.

ouch very pricey, even if it was in WA i'd say it was pricey for that sort of dosh

oh and ur linking (http://www.carsales.com.au/used-cars/private/MITSUBISHI/VERADA/details.aspx?l=pu&__Ns=pCar_PrivateSpecialFlag_Int 32|1||pCar_ImageCount_Int32|1||pCar_LastModifiedDa te_DateTime|1&__Nne=20&PriceMax=15000&seot=0&dista nce=100&silo=1003&Cr=13&postcode=4814&__N=41%20410 %20834%20285%20257&__sid=10F51F4E3D7C&__Nf=p_GeoLo cation_String|GCLT%20-19.29568,146.7635%20105.1&R=5131956&trecs=24) sucks ;)

Then No, it's too expensive, even for Townsville.

It appears to be a private sale so no extras like warranty and not even 12 months rego for the extra expense. As an example not an alternative, Theres a 2001 KJ Xi for sale in Townsville, private sale, 105,000kms for $11,900 which, from my understanding, is about Redbook value for a car with such low kms and every conceivable option right down to mats and headlight/bonnet protectors and the gimicky electronic rust prevention (and presumably theres room for negotiation with this guy too). The "It's in Townsville" excuse used by this seller doesn't really hold any weight when other people selling cars in Townsville aren't applying the same premium to the sale price.

As for not suggesting alternatives, I think people were just trying to give you something to think about, when a 2000 KJ Verada Ei (again only an example) with 147,000kms is advertised in Brisbane for $9500 and you're getting a car 2 years and 2 models newer for less money for the sake of a cheap bus/plane trip and a drive home, I guess other people thought it was worth trying to help you get the best deal.

Agreed, I picked up my KH Ei with 30k less kms for $7500. Almost $10k for a KF is too much.
