Any one know how to fix a broken button on a auto gear knob, from a TE Model, Cause the stupid clips which hold it down have been sheered off, and it just pops out and it can get really annoying and kinda dangerous when driving, cause its popped out before when driving and i couldnt get into reverse.

Take out the small spring directly under the button, put a small dob of silicone in the deepest part of the button and push it back on, let it set and hey-presto the button is fixed (and still spring loaded because there is a spring further down in the mechanism).
Either that or buy a new button from Mitsubishi.

In my old TF I was on holidays and when I poped it into reverse the button flew off and landed in the back! I used it gently for a day so it wouldn't pop out and got fed up and went to the nearest Mitsi dealer on the Sunny Coast. Turns out, a new button was something like $3.50? Or maybe $15? Was that long ago. Anyhow, moral to the story is a whole new button was cheap as.
