Hey everyone,
Along side my DOHC conversion, i am going to be doing interior/exterior mods at the same time. One of the things i want to replace is my old Pioneer cd player with something new.
I want a double din unit with a flush mounted touch screen, dvd, cd and mp3 capabilities.
Has anyone got anything that does that or have any recommendations. I had a look at the Pioneer and Alpine web sites, and they each only have one unit that does these things.
Cheers,
Chris

I've only ever had pioneer, so i am a bit reluctant to jump ship to another brand. lol. I had a look at the JVC KW-AVX800. It seems to do what i want it to, looks quite nice, and isnt too dear. Not sure if i will be changing the speakers or not. There seems to be a swing away from 6x9's in the rear (which i have) to 6.5 co-ax's in the rear doors.
Decisions decisions.

Kenwood for the biased win. Very easy to use and chock full of features.

JVC, and yes, I'm a little biased, but I'm not the only one who's mentioned them :P
For AV units, they really are the best value for money, even when I was doing my research before I started working for them :P

I use a Pioneer AVH P6850 DVD. This is outdated now, but you can still buy them in JB HI Fi near me, new for around $1000-1200. I paid $2200 1 year ago. This unit has every thing. If you want to do the DVD thing is would advise get a stacker as you can just switch to music rather than having to swap a cd/dvd. The pioneer has the inbuilt stacker andi have optioned it with a steering wheel remote and a reversing camera. So many options to upgrade it in the future as well.

if you have money to blow, you could look at Eclipse and get everything on it, but only if you really want high SQ, otherwise i'd be going one of the pioneer/alpine (cant remember who had it) screens with the 6x dvd changer behind the screen :)
