I had an amp wired, by a friend who has the apparant know how LOL, anyway he put all the plastics back into place and the indicators dont work, no signal in the dash, no flashing lights outside, ive had this happen before when another mate forgot to connect something in the centre console, thing where the airconn, ventilation dials are, behind the plastic, my questions are as follows:

1. how would i take the plastic off?

2. What should i be carefull of?

3. Has this happened to anyone before?

Kind Regards in Advance

The plug for your distress/hazard lights would be my guess for solving the problem, maybe it wasn't plugged back in. Had the same problem on a HSV where a faulty Distress/Hazard switch stopped the indicators working at all. As for unscrewing the plastic bits, not sure, sorry.

Could try guessing and say that if you remove the insert in the centre console (pull up on the coin tray in front of the centre console bin, this will remove the insert around the transmission quadrant, the cup holders etc in one piece) the bottom of the fascia may have screws under there somewhere. How it is clipped in at the top I have no idea. It shouldn't be too hard to work out though......or you could just get your mate back and berate him for doing half a job, lol, he obviously knows how to get the bugger off, offer him a 6-pack as a bribe!!

Hey yea it is your hazard button (its not pluged in). I had the same problem when i took of my console (i was changing color of my interior at that time) & forgot to plug it back in, it completely kills your indicators.

Okay to take it off, only 2 screws are holding it, they are located at the top of the console. To get to them you will need to take of the part where 2 air ducts are (where trip computer is located). Simply pull it and it will come off, then you will need to unclip the plastic cover from the actual ducts it will make access easier or simply you might try moving it to the side, those clips are located on the top & bottom you should spot them with no problems.

Once you do that the last thing that will hold it will be a metal wire used to control the air flow (I recommend you just leave it because it’s a real motherfu***** to take off) simply move the ducts out of your way.

Then you will see 2 screws that are holding your central console, unscrew them. That’s all no more screws the rest is on clips so just try puling on the console and it will come off (clips are fairly strong so expect some resistance). You might have some trouble of unclipping it from the bottom (hard to get a grip) so you might want to take off the cup tray (where gear box is), just pull on it (no screws are holding it). Then take off the part where your ash tray is (same no screws just pull on it). Unplug you cigarette lighter and there you go your central console is right there to take off.

I hope this helps.

Cheers
