Just wondering if anyone has had any experiences with either of these double din units, the Pioneer AVH-P6850DVD (http://www.pioneer.com.au/products/car_entertainment/Visual/AVHP6850DVD/index.html) or Clarion MAX676VD (http://www.clarion.com/au/en/products/2007/multimedia/multimedia_source_units/MAX676VD/au-en-product-pf_1171866245619.html). If so what are your opinions on them and the differences between the two?
Lots of people seem to have the pioneer unit and have been happy with it, although i like the look of the clarion, with its bright screen and full ipod integration interface. Theres alot to consider, which is making the decision very difficult.
Hopefully others can shed some light on their experiences with either of these units and ease my decision or offer some other units to consider.
Thanks in advance

pioneer model wins imo just because of the 6x dvd changer, thats a big function to have, would be very handy with the movies! Yeah the clarion looks a lil better, but at the end of the day its whats on the screen that matters!

I have the Pioneer 6850 and i'm incredibly happy with it...and as said above, 6 disk stacker built in is a HUGE plus. The ipod unit is a little annoying agreed, but not unusable. Sound quality is awsome and heaps of stuff you can change to suit what ur listening to and things like backgrounds. It's downside is that it doesnt have an SD card slot :(
Hope this helps :D

I have a Pioneer AVH-P6850DVD & the main benifit i find is the bus system plug at the back which enables you to plug almost any equipement (Stacker, Bluetooth etc) that pioneer has made & will make, to your system. Im not sure weather the clarion has the same type of feature but it is good to know how expandable & upgradable the unit is considering the monetary outlay.

i had the pioneer
and it's proably one of the best 2 din's there is bar none (eclipse included)
you need to buy all the cosly add ons of you want ipod bt dvt etc...
but the unit is fantastic, the 6 dvd stacker in the single slot on the hu is now sadly missed as i have just a normal cd player
easy to use interface excellent picture quality, i never had any issue with it, sold it to a fellow forum member in perth now.... if i had the coin i would have gotten another
if you want gps you can get add on gps (non pioneer brand) reasonably cheap and it's a much nicer gps system than the eclipse has or even the new much harder to use and more expensive pioneer 2 din units
only one bad thing i had to say about it, although with 6 dvd in dash not really a big deal is it only plays MP3 from CD not dvd's ad with JVC and their giga mp3
no big deal, but my mp3's were in losless format and the files very large so only 2-3 cd's worth on 1 cd
if your after sq you can get the sound processor for it, then there is the VDP-1 as well, thats awesome and cheap from ebay... i wanted to get that!!!

Thanks for your replies. Much appreciated.
That clears a few thing up, because heres me thinking the clarion also has a 6 disc changer.
Few other questions:
How much would the add on for gps cost and can this gps be oparated fully through the touch screen on the pioneer do you know?
How is the sound quality of the pioneer without the processor?
That vehicle dynamics processor looks awesome. Thanks andrewd, now you have found another thing for me to spend my no money on haha
Has anyone else had any experiences with either of these units, that they would like to share?
Cheers
