Just wondering what could be messing with my fuel economy.. I filled up the car at the start of the week and its already empty.. at only 410k with only 2.8L left in the tank (I filled up 68.1**L this evening)
I tested it out this week without racing anyone (cept once.. and it was a short race) A few months ago I was getting 530/540 on Shell Optimax/BP Ultimate and now I'm not even getting 450. Could it mean the injectors need a clean or something?
Its been constantly like this.. Just wondering if anyone knows what this could be?
Thanks in advance..

With my 3.5, driving it "nicely" consumes more petrol than me red lining the car...

My tank shows over half full and just over 220kms from the first half (full fill) so im guessing around 450km i will get... which is normal for my 3l auto... and i have raced it a few times against a car.. which is around 10 times slower than it... but you know .. gotta flex my authority..

But I mean.. I drive it as economically as I can and I still only get that much out of a tank? normally on Optimax/Ultimate I get at least 530/540 and on normal unleaded I get like 460/470 on a full tank.. but now on Optimax/Ultimate I'm only getting 410/420k out of a full tank.. Could something be a miss here.. coz seriously this is hurting my bank balance slightly more every wk..

There are variables like filter cleaniness, environment dust, injectors, old engine oil... so many .... mmmmm.... heavy right foot by dad while you were not around? :p :p :p

My fuel eco has gone out the window this week too dude.
Not getting anywhere near the dist I was. It is the heat and I am sure it is affecting everybody.
The next thing is to check the air filter as the heat brings out the bugs and I have hit some big suckers this week.
Talking about how many K's per tankful is not a valid way to compare different cars. :!: :!:
To use this method all the cars would have to be driven over the exact same course by the same driver. I have a 2001 advance. Around Sydney on the stop start Weekday school run the car averages between 13 to 14 litres per 100k. Freeway driving drops this to about 8 litres per 100k

hmmmm in the last few weeks i too have noticed an increase in fuel consumption.
And low and behold, this week its used heaps less, coinciding with the weather turning a LOT colder.
This week i'm on track to get about 230kms out of 25L (all pretty hard city driving) :D

hmm weird, I have a 3.5 auto with a few mods that would increase fuel consumption and I still get more than 600km to a tank, I dont drive it too hard but it isn't driven softly either- i work in araluen so i hurt it up the hills at like 120km/hour
