Ok well i finally saved up some money and decided to get my exhaust put on, its a 2.5inch CAT back system with a 14" Glass Pack muffler. Overall im very pleased with it and it was well worth the $240 that it cost me.

When i was gettin the exhaust done the guy rang me and said that the CAT was all melted inside, and that a new one was $240, i told him to leave it as i would try to get one from a wreckers. I ended up finding a near perfect one (mesh still silver and shiney on both ends) for $40. Bargain! Took about 15mins to replace and all is good. It has made more of a difference than the exhaust did, and my car no longer has a flatspot at about 3800rpm.
Here's a couple pics, its a 2.6litre manual.
btw yes my boot is open in the pic ;)

What was it before hand? Did you have the stock muffler on there in the first place? How's it sound? Any drone? Does it get louder as it warms up? Let us know how it is after a thousand km's.

Redav, Beforehand i had the standard 2.25inch and standard muffler. My muffler had what i thought were rocks in it, in actual fact it was bits of the CAT.
It sounds pretty good i'll try record it, but as always sounds alot different in cabin than outside. Its not LOUD which is good because i didnt want that, fairly tame but a nice grunt when you put your foot down.
It doesnt get louder as it warms up, but once the CAT gets some temperature into it, u get 'controlled backfire' when u back off the gas. And the best thing is that it doesnt drone the cabin, so it doesnt affect the ICE at all. ;)

btw, i was at Crown Casino carpark last nite, and i put the foot down, and about 7-8 car alarms went off, so maybe it is a bit loud......lol

Spaz, tehre will be no running of hollow CAT's......thats hell-dodgy.

Hahaha... what time was that? I saw The Passion of the Christ at 7.10 and would have been outside 2 hrs later.

Well, if your 4 cyl 2.6 has 2.25 and so does my 3.0 V6 then I'm sure I'd see a gain from going to 2.5. Gonna dyno it?

Do it, then a rear sway bar and strut brace if you don't have them.

I'm staying in some apartments near the Crown.
