So driving around bankstown today looking for the sports power thats meant to be there (why did you lie to me so google maps!) i went into a parking garage which had extremely small ramps to go up and down.
As we know the 380 isn't a small car so i had some trouble getting down safely...needless to say i wasn't so successful and coming down the last ramp i hit the gutter and scrapped the absolute ****e out of my passenger side skirting also looks like it's an expensive job cause either the skirting is really tough plastic or and more likely it's metal...... :( :boohoo: :tantrum:
a great day all in all....just lucky it didn't scrape the rim as well....i hate sydney so much right now i just wanna go back to melbourne where everything made sense and the places i needed to visit were close by.
sorry slight rant about sydney here...but seriously why is nothing close to anything else, all i want to find is a place that has a harvey norman/good guys/whaterver and like a good shopping centre oh also autobarn and a tyre place(where is sydney's equiv of northlands??) thats not freaking 30k away from me!!!!!!!!

Quick pic of the damage done.....i think you can see where it's gone right through the metal and you can see the pavement underneath the car...or it could be a trick of the light.

not yet no sadly finances are tight at the moment, i did approach mistubishi to repair it and it turns out it's part of the chasis so it's a panel beaters job....which prolly means big $$ i'll hopefully get it fixed next month sometime.

I now know how you feel.
I was leaving my doctors' surgery this afternoon but some idiot in a large Ford Transit was blocking my view by parking in the driveway next to the exit. As I pulled out to move into traffic the ratbag  reversed straight into me. Luckily I was moving and he missed the front guard and his rear plastic bumper/step hit the door panel just behind the guard and door hinge. Whilst the impact was low speed, with no damage to the van, the weight of the Transit pushed the panel in just below the horizontal crease which is one third up the door panel. The bumper has depressed the panel and the bottom hinge impression can be seen through the panel. The is no deformation of the panel above the crease so it may be a bog job on the lower section.
The whole door is now sticking out at the top right corner with the door seal ajar and open to the weather. I've managed to put some sealing tape on the inside of the door frame to keep water out though. I rang AAMI straight away and have it booked in for assessment and repair Friday next week. He's at fault as he was reversing and should have taken due care and attention.
His boss offered to pay but I prefer to take the advantage of AAMI doing my leg work and covering the repairs for life. No loss of no-claim and no excess to pay either. The owner is liable to reneg if the cost is over what he thinks is fair. Whilst I pointed out the damage to the driver of the door seal and square he just described it to his boss as a small dent. I think it may be more serious with the door having to be realigned and there may be some unseen damage. The power window still works OK but I'll keep an eye on it as I don't want a motor burn out from too much friction.
The only trouble is it's coming up to end of FBT year (it's a novated lease) and I need a few miles and was planning on a weekend away at Easter. Knowing my luck the repairer will take their sweet time and have it for the rest of the month and my lease company will say I can't claim the off road days. I'll find out tomorrow...

Zarbs. I had really good service from AAMI when my driving school car got rear ended. I dropped it off on the Friday and had it back after 5 working days. I hope you get the same service i did.
After reading about your damage i reckon they will put a new door on the car. It will probably be more cost effective than repairing the old one.

I got a screw in my tyre on Sat, the 2nd of feb this year, and took it to Capalaba tyre Service, which they promptly plugged on the Sunday morning and I drove away.
From then on I had a constant suspension squeak.
They squashed a brake line cable on to the front of the rear suspension (bush housing). I took it back, they looked under the car, and bent it back a little, I bounced in my seat and confirmed that the squeak had gone. I was happy.
Then the same guy who did the damage with the trolley jack earlier, jumped up on the footsill, grabbing the black rain guide rail, to haul his stupid backside up, reefed the rail off:rant:
Then wanted to fix it, I said 'Just leave it', I will get it fixed and send you the bill. It aint broke, he hollered, and continued to ignore me as I stood there with the broken clips in my hand.
Anyway, the manager came out and said ' I know a bloke who can throw some clips on there, go and see him, It'll take a few minutes'
Any way, the bloke he knows, hates his guts, and is a reputable crash repairer. ( Approved by my Insurance Co.) The repairer stood Dumbfounded as I regailed him with my tail of woes.
Happily quoted on my repairs. His trained eye didn't miss a thing.
Damage done.
Underside bush housing. Replace
Bent rail. Replace
Broken Clips Replace
Chipped Paint, (by clips) Respray.
Paint protection reapply.
Est Tot. $1100.00
With my excess of $350.00
I dropped off a repair qoute to the tyre tossers. And he posted me a letter, admitting breaking the clips and offered $250.00..
I posted that to my insurer, and with a bit of arguing. Excess Waived, No Fault.
The paint Protection Qoute was for $350.00
I am gunna have to talk to them about a genuine Spoiler.
Avoid Grahams/Capalaba Tyre Service like the plague.
The idiot who broke my 380 twice, even had the nerve to threaten me.
I have since found out, he's known as 'Dodgy Graham'.

I have heard very good things about AAMI (my son-in-law had a good claim experience) and had nothing but bad experiences with NRMA. I had insured with them for 30 years with never a claim and, after one small claim (with lifetime no claim bonus) my premiums jumped nearly $600. So much for trusting the long term customer. It's a load of bull plus I had to do all the leg work. At least AAMI takes the car and delivers it back fixed and guaranteed for life...

I had time to have a good look at the door over the weekend. Seems to have just pivoted on the top hinge slightly and the dent is not as bad as I first thought. Probably a couple of days work and realignment but a full respray of the whole panel. I've rebooked the work for end of the month so I can make my FBT K's and have the car for Easter. Cheers...

They must be common, those screw punctures. I've had 1 in my 380 and 2 previous cars. When I did the King Springs on my car, the mechanic spotted one sitting in my driver-side rear wheel, which he pulled it out and plugged up.

I reckon its just people getting slack, loose screws floating in the back of utes, people not cleaning up after themselves:nuts: , bet they are the first to complain though
