Well its final i think :(

my TS just **** itself on the way back to Sydney last night,
i made it all the way to Chatswood when the engine started lagging and (sounded like it had cam work done lol)
i had completely lost cyl 1 and 3 they just weren't firing
so yeh... i am hoping its my plugs, but i had just replaced them that day with a full set of brand new ones.

thats the first thing i am checking today

thanks for the kudos on the paint job :)

i found the problem

brand new plugs collapsed.

which i could spare the time for the GTO conversion but i can't so its going to be a full bottom end re build with O2 pistons rings etc etc..

You may as well just transplant another 6G72 engine into your car instead of rebuilding, it'll be cheaper.

Like paula and ashneel said GTO conversion dude.
Buy a $500 car with 4 months rego on it for now while you're dropping the new engine in.
The 12V SOHC cannot compare with the amount of power and torque from the 24V 6G72 and the sound is amazing.
Plus you seem to be able to do a lot of work yourself so the conversion wont be much of a problem or cost for you.

Another selling point would be with the 24V engines consume less fuel than the 12V in normal driving and there are no oil leak problems and having to change them seals all the time. So you'll be saving more in the end with an engine that goes a lot harder too.

You have the SOHC model - Dimi has the DOHC model
