Ok guys ive finally got the funds for new springs for my wagon but after some research on the Lovells and King Springs sites ive found that they dont make Superlows for the back of the wagon, just a few quick questions:
1. does anyone know a brand that make superlows for the back of the wagon?
2. if not, do i have to get them made for extreme amounts of money?
3. Has anyone got any suggestions or advice on what would be the best thing to do..

Springs can also be compressed... TUFFTR has his done on the front and back.

I don't like the idea of it, but he likes it... :)

Ill be pisssed of if they stop makign them, coz Im about to get some for my 2nd gen wagon. someone on here got some lovell super lows for the rear recentlyish. apparently due to being a wagon and carryign loads, the 'lows' are actually standar height, and the 'super lows' are the low equivalent. maybe they have changed that now??

Yeah that was me. If you look in the Lovells catalogue you can see the code CRL-41A in the superlow category. It's a low spring rather than super low. That was in the catalogue that was out about 6 months ago.

Ok, so from what ive gathered the low version makes it as low as super low for the back? im pretty sure ive read wrong haha, on the lovells and king springs catologues guides ive read on the net the superlow columns for the rears of 2nd gen wagon is just empty.

Thanks tmichelsons, are they the same drop as superlows? that info would be helpful.

how much drop do you get out of a compressed spring?

tmichelsons, how low are your springs? is your car still legal?
tufftr- so you can compress stock springs to the point that they will sit at the same height as superlows would? how do you go about getting them compressed?

Yes you can but the ride will be poo. If you want to get them compressed ring up a suspension joint and ask if they compress springs

Fork out the dosh for some KYB's and lovells, Pretty good combo IMO

mmmmm indeed. For $400ish then get superlows front, lows rear, get them installed and then get the rears compressed. at least it'll look hawt

Here's a pic of mine with the low fronts and superlow rears. The Lovell low rears were about 20mm taller than this.

Yep the superlow spring in the lovells catalogue is really a low and the low spring is stock height.

I really need some alloys...

tr3000 how did you get superlows for the rear?
and sorry but IMO your car doesnt look low enough to me, i wanna make mine just legal, for the cost it just doesnt look like it has changed all that much.

WOOPS i made a big mistake, after looking at the catalogue again it does have superlows listed, so your saying tr3000 that the superlow is really just a low? and that means that your car has lows all around?

Yeah look at the codes as I posted above. They say its a super low but the codes show that its really a low spring. My theory is they wanted to retain some clearance for the tail end of the wagon as people tend to put lots of stuff in there.

No, my car does not look that low, but when two people and a heap of windsurfing gear is in it I am glad of the extra 20mm clearance especially on country roads with big dips and hollows. I chose not to go for super lows at the front as there are big question marks regarding handling and real world performance. Super low is for show only imho.

Yeah, very true, the most i ever have in the back of my car is some bodyboards and wetsuits and stuff, and occasionally me and the missus sleep in it after a few to many drinks haha, a full car of people and country roads could be a hazard, dont really want a car that scraps and have to worry about driving cautiously, might wait till i get my rims on saturday and tyres fitted and work out the clearance and see what height i would like it at. I want the nice lowered look but yeah i dont wanna be paranoid about hurting the car.
BTW tr3000 do you have a pic of your car before lowering?

If you do a search back, tr3000 did put a comparison pic of before and after in a thread. Having look at the pics, I also was suprised that it doesnt look very low, and as low as I would like it. However havign a good look at the one below, I reckon it just doesnt look that low coz its got small wheels.

I think with larger diamter wheels it will look better (obviosuly) and also lower. However I think the biggest difference is because they are usually wider, and squarer. so the wheels appear bigger because they dont curve at the top, and the wheels are further out and much closer to the guard lip. Have a good look at the pic and imagine it... Is it just me???????

hmm maybe someone could be kind enough to photoshop some rims onto his car?
ive bought a set of territory rims off ebay(yes i know, start laughing now) but i got them for $51 bucks WITH tyres, im not fussed, i like the look of them, i get them on saturday and getting some low profiles on them, 45 or 40 profiles, so yeah im trying to decide on springs that will make the car look good with the wheels.

Here's a pic of the car this morning. Not too high I don't think.

Note sailing gear within ready for after work this afternoon.
