hey all,

does anyone know how to get scratches etc out of one-piece parabolic head lights? had a build up of condensation inside it, took it out emptied the water out, then lightly on low used the heat gun to get rid of the rest. with this, it has left a small crack(tiny) but as i know its there, its either fix it (if possible) or new para. so is it possible to get scratches/cracks outta them? lloyd (YLD35L) suggested giving it a light buff...how would this go? is there anything to fix it?

usually ultra light grind sandpaper aka 2000+grit and some cut and polish usually works i used that on my yellowing headlights of an old skyline i had and they came up like new

Sorry mate, no good advice, except parras are crap outside the metro area. I've got Osram silverstars in mine to just see normally on the freeway. I get flashed regularly, due to the crap optics on those lights. I can't bring myself to go to standard lights, even though I should. Choonga and Ashneel made angel eye inserts on para's. They had to take them and reseal them. They may be able to help. Scratches/cracks, looks like new ones... Hope I'm wrong

Autobarn etc. sell a cleaning/polish/rejuvenate kit for scratched plastic headlight lenses - anyone buy/try these kits? Do they work?

When I used to ride a bike I used to use a perspex/plastic polish to get rid of scratches on the full face helmet visor - used to work a treat. Maybe visit a motorbike shop and see what they sell these days?

yeah the kits do work they pretty much are a piece of 2000 grit sandpaper and cut & polish liquid hehe, we sell them at work as well for 20 bucks for a kit and one kit does 2 headlights

I was bought one of these kits for Christmas along with some of that acrylic type headlight protector stuff. It's hard work with the sandpaper (basically 4 grades of sandpaper, full sand back with each one, then a polish at the end) but mine have come up really well. I'd be worried about getting water inside your headlights tho.
