I mentioned this in another thread but I think my new TJ Advance Wagon is a series 1.5 which I think are also called MY02, half way between series 1 and 2.
It has the following::D

Climate air
power aerial
smaller door pockets (reinforced door internals)
front overhead map lights

But it does not have::cry:

Digital odometer (old analogue type)
In dash trip computer (it's in the centre above centre air vents like older models)
Tiptronic transmission

The owners manual quotes the engine as being 150kw and 300nm but it is a general book so I'd imagine only the series 2 models would have mentioned the more powerful engine since the series 1.5 was not an official model so no changes would have been made to the specs in the owner's manual yet.

I have searched a lot and found that since it's build date is Sept 01 it probably is a series 1.5 MY02 my VIN number is 6MMTJ8A461T0*****

What I am getting at is, does this mean I just got one of the first Sept 01 models with the 155kw 316nm engine?

Would I have any luck ringing Mitsubishi Australia and quoting the VIN number?
Any assistance would be much appreciated P.S. Very happy with my new Magna:D

UPDATE: I just found on the internet "Magna encyclopedia" that the 155 kw engine was used from August 2001:D Which is great,http://magna.trynsave.net/index.php?title=2g_6G74
2g 6G74 - Mitsubishi Magna Encyclopedia I'm very pleased.
Firing order 123456 far out, that's an easy one to remember.

What was revised from the series1- to series 2?to get the extrra 5kw and 16nm? Inlet/exhaust? Tune maybe?

i believe it was a revised cam profile.

Put on a straight through muffler and you will get yourself up to or over 163kW, and i'm not sure on the torque, can someone fill it in for me??

IIRC it was bumped up to 317Nm.

The difference between the 147kW and 150kW motors was a revised cam grind, while the jump to 155kW was an ECU remap.

I wonder if the re-map produced the extra 16 NM of Torque, 5 kw isn't much but 16 Nm of torque is quite a bit, thanks for your responses guys, I hope the link I posted was of some help to others as well:)

I have a few questions about my car being new to Magnas but I'll start a new thread with those questions so I don't end up off topic for this thread.
