referring to the verada door pods which i installed with the plastic speaker mounts. would it be necessary to seal and sound deaden all service holes with these mounts or can i just get away with sealing the hole at the rear of the speaker mount?

thanks

Alex

Sealing the hole at the rear of the speaker mount would kill all your midbass, you need a large enclosure for them (the size of your doors for instance).

It would help to seal up your door holes, but best bet would be to seal around the edge of the speaker with thick closed cell foam (door draft stopper foam), so the only escape the pressure from the front of the speaker has is out the door trim and not back into the door where it will have cancellation issues.

AS with anything, more sound deadener the better.

thanks for the quick reply tim. when the new speakers go in ill definitely consider doing some serious sound deadening.
