hey all,
I haven`t got enough cash to get some big assed rims for my Verada, only enough to get it lowered. So while I was fiddling around in photoshop to see what it would like lowered with the standard 16 inch Verada rims. I also had a shot at something a bit different that I could get done cheaply and although I went 'blech' initially - strangely it`s starting to grow on me. Was just interested to see what others thought.
It`s basically the standard KF Verada rim painted satin black with a pinner whitewall added.
First image is standard car lowered:
Second is satin black mod
Third is same with chrome or silver wheel nuts

Cheers fellas I though it looked pretty slick too seeing as though the car is dark etc. The whitewall on a black rim also helps with the illusion of larger rim diameter which is a plus. Not really a fan of that shadow chrome as I`m trying to lose the actual rim diameter and fake it with the whitewall.
I`d imagine getting the wheel professionally painted and the whitewalls cut in wouldn`t set me back all that much (hopefully..)
96_Altera - I have no idea what Embassy Grey looks like? Couldn`t guarantee I`d be able to do it anyway (my mad photoshop skills aren`t all that hot ;) )

Embassy Grey is just Mitsu's version of gunmetal grey
the only reason i asked is my wife smashed one of my DTM wheels and i am looking at a set of Verada rims on Ebay at the moment....

hmm all I could come up with was using 20% black - dunno if this looks anything like it?

how would you paint em black? because wear and tear might reveal silver spots... anyone know how you would do this?

yeah that`s true.. I guess from a protection point of view I could put clear over the satin black but I assume that would make the wheel more glossy than I`m looking for?
After thinking about getting it professionally done I`m now thinking I might get the spare out and give it a good going over with wax and grease remover then give it a burl myself with a can of satin black?
That way if I like it I can do the rest, then just go over it again with the same paint if there`s ever any damage/silver showing through..

they need powder coating in order for the paint to not crack. Most bodyshops/wheel repair places should be able to powder coating

Actually now I`ve slept on it and had a look this morning I don`t really like them that much anymore!
Also by the time I get the whitewalls cut in which is about $200 and then get the rims powdercoated I`m probably half way to a set of rims anyway.
Also as mentioned the finish wouldn`t be too permanent if I did it the cheap way plus the 'whitewalls' eventually wear off too becasue they`re not real ones.
Hmmm...might just get it lowered and see what that looks like first. Thanks for the opinions y'all
