afaik you have to be able to get into the vehicle if the battery is flat. so you would need some sort of linkage system underneath the car to release the door if the solenoids arent working.

Maybe you could put the linkage in the boot not making it so easy to get in.

mmmm very good point.

but yes you would need some way to manually open the doors. you may leave your headlights on one day - no power = no opening doors.
but sounds cool. if you did it well itd look mad

no idea bout the legal side

Well ive looked at this option too. Shaved door handles arnt legal in NSW and you CAN NOT get them engineered either.. i asked him before i do anything..:)

if u shave your handles off, the only legal way is to have "poppers" out the top of the doors. they just look like internal locks but on the outside. When/if i smooth more car when i paint it i might do it, or just get smoother door handles

Do these have key holes or something in them?
Just wondering how you lock/unlock your car (other than a remote).

 wonder how much this would cost - more than I could justify I expect. lol

sorry ego ur wrong and so is ur engineer.

as long as u manually have a way of getting into the car on the door ur fine, like jase said a popper. u CANNOT have a popper mounted anywhere else, a popular hot rod mod was to place popper underneith the side skirts under the car, this is not legal.

if u look at the pics of my new car u can see the popper just near the window sill.
