Hi everybody,

After some advise, I bought a tl es magna about 2 months ago the front tyres where fine but after about two months both left and right front tyres have an obvious bald strip on the outer parts of tyres went to take back for statutory warranty but they told me that it does not cover tyres. I said I could understand that but it has obviously been caused by misalignment or front end problems, he told me that if i could feel the misalignment why didnt i take it back straight away only problem is there was no obvious signs no squeeling tyres no pulling to one side or vibrating steering, Its like my tyres are mysteriously wearing. Will just bite the bullet and get tyres and an alignment out of my own pocket but is there anything else i should be looking for so i dont buy new tyres and have it happen again. The car has 42000 on the clock.

Thanks

Too much DriFt BrO

out of all things it would have to be the allignment... especially if both wheels are wearing on the outside, correct me if im wrong but the camber must be way off

I agree, what pressure do you put in them? how often do you check/inflate them?

could be too much toe-in if its wearing on the outside, someone could have complained that the car doesnt hold a straight line so they just gave it heaps of toe-in and this is the end result.

yeah, toe in would be the most likely answer here. under imflated tyres generally wear on both sides, not just one. alignment could be responsable but cos its both tyres i would say its toe.

simple fix tho, get a wheel alignment...and maybe some new tyres

Other then an alignment, what are your shocks/springs like?

I've seen cars with dead shocks wear tyres quicker as the car "sort of drags" instead of glide smoothly.

Otherwise you might have some cheap tyres, when it comes to rubber dont go for a $60 tyre, mine cost $135 each and are perfect. Worth every penny!

+1 for alignment, or you just need to slow down more before going round corners, LOL.

If you are going to push it hard tell the person wheel aligning it. They can set it to compensate so it doesn't wear too bad
