Maybe you could try disconnecting the battery, then reconnecting it again. Not really sure what else to do, I've got a clarion, and its been great!

That unit is very very similar to my one, yours is the model up i think, ive never had a problem with mine or with any previous clarion units, good luck with it, guessing its not under warranty?

the laser might have burnt itself out
should be able to get it repaired but unsure of the costs

I had an error 6 on a few cd's that i happened to burn... i re burn the music on a different brand of cd and it worked fine... maybe the laser can't pick up a certain type of cd

Well I'd be happy to come around and give you a hand getting it out, and you can borrow my Verada headunit until you get yours back if you like. And you can take a look at my CarPC to see if you like ;)

Who installed the unit originally? Just wondering if they chopped the connector off (if they did the Verada HU won't have anything to connect to).

My opinion is that Kenwood has its place... in the bin.

Every unit has a loom and harness, it means there is a plastic plug that holds all the wires in the rear of the deck. Pull that out along with any RCA / Bus ( stacker / Ipod / RCA input ) / Aerial that are hooked up and the unit will be free. Taking it out is easy, its good that you have someone willing to help, it just means that you wont break anything. Make sure you give it a go though. :D

Just a question though, have you tried a normal non burnt CD? Perhaps you should also send Clarion a CD that doesn't work.
