You would probably have to strengthen the whole thing to run high boost - but as far as RPW are going - they arent strengthening anything - but it may be wise to change the compression to copensate and a few other things - best people to speak to:

Mitsiman!!

Apart from that - look at insurance!! Not gonna be pretty for an after market turbo mod!!

Haha - good luck though!! Maybe a S/C is more practical?? that'd be sweet - maybe of an old toyota engine - cos the power bars would be similar

RPW would have the best knowledge on this one. Depending on what c/r you have depends on the amount of boost you can run. An intercooler will increase your boost level.

I've looked at this option many times. With the 2.4 its a deap simple job.

However i don't have much faith in the auto trans taking the power of a turbocharger reliably... Other than that i know the 2.4 responds extremly well to a turbocharger.

you can normally bolt on a turbo on low psi 5-7

if you want any more then that id suggest you would decompress/strengthen your engine to suit otherwise you will have problems.

wouldnt it depend on the compression ratio of the 2.4L as to how high u can boost it before u need to strengthen it....i dont like the idea of slappin on a turbo running more than half bar boost

The 2.4 easily handles a 7 - 8 psi kit no problems at all and it is a very straight forward job.

Use a nice Garret GT-28 turbo, larger injectors, greddy e-manage and you are laughing.

At 7 psi you would be looking at an easy 140 - 160 at the front wheels.

No need to touch the internals of the engine
