I have done lots of searching and found lots of discussion about off set amounts and so forth and have arrived at the conclusion that I can fit 17 X 8 rims on my TJ wagon without problems at the front if the off set is not more than 40-45mm, however in lamens terms the main concern with the front is that it does not stick out beyond the guards (Illegal, probs with cops and insurance companies) or scrape and touch anything it shouldn't, it is obviously the offset which influences this.
There are some rims available in 17 X 7.5 but the range is limited and I don't want to go to 18" because it is just a family car and 18" tyres cost a lot more when you have to replace them but I know they still look better. The rim design which I think looks wicked on Magnas especially 3rd gen wagons is the Envy MK 2 design by Speedy wheels but they are only made in 18" However there are some other makes with similar designs available in 17 X 8 but not 17 X 7.5, I don't want to be nervous at the traffic lights everytime a copper pulls up next to me but I want my car to look good (which without going over to 18" will be a challenge)
There is a photo of a pewter/silver Diamante wagon (looks like a TH Wagon to me it is RH drive) and the wheels look stunning but they are obviously 18" maybe even 19" and the rears are wider than the fronts they may be BSA, it has parabolic headlights and driving fog lights, damn a picture says a thousand words, I'll try and attach the photo, great it worked, I'm improving, is that wagon a head turner or what??? What are those rims called?
