Hey guys, I've got a bit of a problem with my climate control, basically it won't change the direction of the air flow between vents. I've narrowed it down to the mechanism in to the left of the drivers foot well (accessible from the drivers foot well), which slides backwards and forwards changing the air direction from the front vents to the window vents. What I've discovered, is a long screw like metal pole comes down from a motor of sorts which moves when the climate control settings change, but it appears the clip on the mechanism its meant to be attached to, is either missing or broken.

Heres a pic cause I know you guys love looking at em:

The Red is the rod, and the blue is where I believe its supposed to be hooked up, and i either cant work out how, or there is something missing/broken.

So can it be fixed, or is it a replacement job? If its an easy fix ill give it a whirl, otherwise the mechanic can work it out for me. He's going to have a look at it tomorrow morning, just to see the problem (over the phone is hard to explain) and he should be able to tell me whats wrong.

Ideas?

Cheers guys.

edit* A photo of a working one would be great, so I can see what its supposed to look like. Don't need to remove anything, just push the camera up behind the footwell cover under the wheel and shoot, with flash :D

You are correct in assuming this is the problem... It'll need a new clip.

Lucifer, would that be the entire white mechanism? or just a certain piece? I'm not very familiar with the workings of these things, new to 3rd gens :P

Mate did take off the centre console airvent off before u took that photo? Because its missin the mechanical wire bit that connects to that knobbed bit that u circle in the blue. (im pretty sure)
Usually u have to take the cable off the knobbed bit before u remove that centre air vent. To allow u to remove your air vent or have access to your head unit.

Nah thats a seperate thing a bit higher up. The vent had be taken out, but I'd put it all back together before i took the photo, its functioning fine, this is lower down. Wasn't a bad guess though.

edit: You were talking about the bit in the red circle right? my problem is the area in the blue circle back further:

The second picture shows how its supposed to be hooked up. Put the rod in the holder and then clip the bit over the top of the rod.

That bit that clips over, thats the broken bit. Spose I'll need to replace the whole thing, or work out a supplement.
