View Full Version : 380 Value
Hey Guys,
I dont mean to be negative but what with all these rumours of Tonsley Park closing and in the likely event that it does close the value of our 380's are likely to drop significantly?
Would I be right in saying this?
I only bought my 380 in September, and I love it to bits, but if its going to drop MASSIVE value soon, I dont think I wanna be holding on to it. This is coming from a purely financial perspective.
Prove me wrong please guys :D

as long as there is dealer support and spares the price wont crash!
magnas arent made anymore and their value holds up well against the competition thats still around...
If Tonsley Park closes will we still have a 380?
Will it just be imported?
Or will the 380 name plate die all together?

From what i hear there are 2 factories going up... One in Russia to build the Lancer and one in China. Im not sure what the one in China is going to be producing, maybe its a fair bet the PS41 and all its variants will come from there. If thats the case we will still have a 380 but imported from China.
As mentioned earlier about spare parts it is mandatory for all manufacturers to supply new and genuine spares for 10 years from the last date of manufacture so there is nothing to really worry about there.

umm... you've already sufferred a huge drop... the moment you drove it out of the showroom.
its too late to think of selling now anyways, so why worry about it?
you've still got the same car, just enjoy it

380 is dead, possibly large car replacement in the future based off the tokyo motor show concept

Yeah, Magnas & (tell will tell) 380s were not renowned for their awesome resale anyway - but that didn't deter me from trading my Magna in on a 380 anyway. Great car!
If future generations of 380 are built in China, at least we can remain somewhat content in our last-Aussie built models.

I doubt the 380 price will suffer too much …. Well no more then the price drops we suffer now on any new vehicle
And as far as the parts and future models go …. The US is a huge fan of the 380 / gallant (USA version) … do a Google on the gallant and you will see …. And ill tip future Australian models will be imported and still called the 380 as to keep with the continuity with the current models
I was pretty sure of the impending closure of the SA plant … but that didn’t stop me from buying a new 380 3 days before the closure … bloody great cars and good value for money
As a prior poster said … just enjoy your car
