Hey guys,
Just wondering what you guys would recommend for a boot setup, nothing major,
just 2x 10's or 12's,
(I know your gonna say just use the money for a single, good 12, but i am set in my ways).
I just need 2 subs, in a box, with and amp to run them.
Cheers guys
Oh and the price range is pretty much anything under 700 total.
Thanks
Benj

2 10's have great kick in my opinion,
if you really want 2 subs, id go for 2 good 10s

well if 700 is the budget, ull need at least 300 for an amp
which leaves 200 for each sub
Ive found the kicker comp range to be good for the price, can easily be found at jb etc.
theres alot of range out there these days, ive been out of the loop for years, so i cant give any more advice than that..

what he said. jaycar amp is your friend. dont forget that youll also need a box for the subs and wiring. go to JB and see if you can bargain a bit. stay away from the usual cheap brands

my setup is
Kicker DC12, which includes 2 12" subs boxed $350 at JB-HIFI
pic: http://www.ugotadeal.com/images/KICKER/DC12-OPEN.jpg
supports
600w RMS @ 2ohms or
300w RMS @ 4ohms
and the sony ZX350.2 $350 at JB-HIFI

2x 110w RMS @ 4ohms
2x 175w RMS @ 2ohms
1x 350w RMS @ 4ohms
does the job, a very good job.
i saved $150 on amp by getting it on ebay, wouldnt buy the sub-box on ebay cos posting it would cost a million.

Well, I think 2 x 10s, each one fibeglassed into the boot would be sweat, and bootspace would be fantastic. If you were going a single box, i cant see any reasons I would pick 2 tens over a single twelve.
Also, dont ever by a prefeb box, boxes are piss easy to make at home, are made to the correct dimensions for the sub, and where you want to install them, and, most importantly, are cheaper, and built much better :).

If you want to get loud:
2x DD510 + DD C2a.
If you want to sound good:
2x Hertz ES250.3 + Audio Systems F2-190.
If you want a mix:
2x Oz Audio V10.3-4 + Jaycar 2x 150WRMS or
2x Treo TSi 10.8 + Jaycar 2x 150WRMS.
I agree about the pre-fab boxes. Rarely every will you see them with thicker than 16mm MDF.
Personally I would go with a single quality 12 and a quailty amp. I am sure you can make your boot accomidate that in a stylish way.. Otherwise there are aome combo's above. You will note that the RRp is over your budget however you can always pick them up for on or around your budget.
