HI everyone,

I have 01 TJ with a dual fuel (not factory). I used to get around 500 ks of a 70 litre lpg tank but recently it has decreased to around 350 only!!! I might aswell drive on petrol. I did not notice any difference in the engine noise or perfomance (no backfire either). Car is due for timing belt change & spark plugs but i dont think that could have caused such increased consumption. Can anyone help me out, maybe oxy sensor needs replacing or something like that...

Thanks

probably oxy sensor by the way it has dropped. Replace it and get the ful service done and get the gas system checked just to be on the safe side

Also; check your air filter.
Mine was getting quite poor mileage (similar to yours) when I discovered that my panel filter was really really filthy.
Cleaned it and it's been significantly better since.

But the O2 sensor is definately still a big suspect.

Not sure about newer LPG gear, but I have had issues over th years with perforated diaphrams in the mixer unit.

Golden rule with LPG is get the best gear you can afford.

Sadly, in my case; that was the cheapest stuff I could find. lol

Can you please exaplain what you mean, i have no clue about LPG equipment.

Also i dont think its on oxy sensor i drove on petrol for past couple of days & it is averaging about 11 litres per 100 which is normall for me, clearly fuel economy did not suffer. So it must be problem with LPG set up, does it need to retuned from time to time?

Yeah, I have both my cars retuned every 20,000kms. Costs around $100 I think.I'd def think it has got to be in the LPG system if your petrol consumption hasn't changed.

...all i can say is I do. Both the systems I've had installed recently have had to be serviced every 20,000 for warranty reasons. Best bet is to call a local installer & explain your problem & take it from there.

......l to have had lpg fitted, but to say you used 70 lts ?l thought the total capacity of the tank was only 70ltrs but realistically its only 63-65 that l have ever been able to put in...and l normally get 320-340ks for 63/64 litres...so it must be running real lean to get 500ks to a tank and yes you do have to take it back and get it serviced and adjusted, still its cheaper than petrol.........

:D its low..its a sports ..and its way:cool:

I am considering to do a convert for a 2.4L magna and wondering is it worth it and if my car has gone over 210K mark is it still worth the convert?

Its actualy more then 70 litre (85 i think) tank but i can only fit 70 in there. It was runing great when i got it if diriving easy i would get 500ks out of it, and now the last run i did only 320... & it seems to be getting worse.

Also that damn mixer thing in the intake, wouldnt that block already not so high flowing CAI in a magna, is there any other place it can be installed?

......I don't think so. That's where my mixer is installed, just before the TB.
BTW: Has this only just happened since summer started? My fuel consumption dropped from 350ks per 45l tank to 250ks during summer one year in my TE. Stopped using the a/c & it returned to normal
