hey guys.

today when i went to gun it my car suddenly jerked, ive had it before when ive been on empty, but this time i was still on quarter of a tank.

is this a bad sign??

if the car recovered and it kept running ok

lets say small problem for a start

check the fuel filter for water
fuel regulator is working



wait for more details

next check gearbox ECU TPS or air flow meter

had half a tank and floored it half way round coming out of a right u-turn and it did it again.

how do i check the fuel regulator, will check that and the filter after work.

this is a V6

If other than turning the car runs fine all the time
this is only a guess about the regulator

If you dont have a pressure guage test

when motor is cold

you may take off the pressure regulator

see if it squirts fuel out of the rail

suck on it ... same method as checking the carby dash pots

and see if it holds the pressure

Might be fuel. I had a problem for a while where the car would jerk and splutter and generally not go if I gunned it. It turned out to be the distributer. Just a thought
