I have an '06 Gen 4 6.0 litre Holden with a K&N filter installed, just the normal panel type.

How do these go with 3.5 litre V6's and are there any issues? I pick up my KL Verandah this weekend, and am interested in doing the same. BTW Gen 4 ute averages 12.2 l/100 kms with a 70-30 highway town split.

And in so far as brands K&N, or is their a locally made product that is just as good?

far as i know no over high flow product is made in aus for the magnas, K&N have been around since the stone ages and ive had them in all bar one of my cars, i brought them mainly because they are reusable. nearly all the members here have k&n and noones really whined about them. If anyhting you might get slighty better economy and the motor to rev slighty smoother thats about all i noticed with mine.
