Hey all,

Everytime the car bumps a small pot hole or uneven surface on the road, I could hear a clacking/rattle noise on my ride hand side of the car mainly on the front wheel. I am a bit concern if there are some bolts loose or whatever.

Tried shaking the car but couldn't hear anything, I looked under where the noise is coming from and can't find any broken parts.

Anyone had the same experience or trouble?

Mine does it - I think it's one of the struts.

Is that something that I need to worry about?

mine does it too

took the car back to mitsu to get it looked at - they said that there was nothing wrong with the car.
(thats if they did even look for the source of the sound...)

Have a look at the black spiral wrap that should be around the first turn of the coil spring at the top and bottom.
I'll bet that that the bottom wrap is worn through.
If this is the case, Jack the car up. Reposition the wrap and hold it into place with a bit of black electrical tape.
Noise gone.
Had the same problem on my TJ after a couple of years.

You can get new wrap from Jaycar - Spiral Binding Page 118.
Black 12 mm dia is HP-1222. Cost is $6.15 for 1.5m.

It might be an idea to check whether your front brakes have anti squeal pads fitted. I found that without them, I would get a rattling noise over slight bumps etc that would dissapear when I pressed the brake pedal or when driving in wet weather.
