sounds like an average price for a transmission service, what is it including?
if that includes the fluid flush and filters, then thats good

do it your self, just buy 10L of tranny fluid, (genuine as they are the cheapest which is a change) filter, and a bottle of transmition treatment fulid,

Re-iterating genuine from a Mitsubishi dealer/workshop.
i had mine serviced this afternoon - $160, thats just filter + flush with genuine fluid. I pay the extra ~20-30 dollars cause the guy is nice and i know he does his job well.
Yeah, can't stress enough the GENUINE mitsu transmission fluid for this transmission. Some horror stories out there...

Agreed. It aint that hard to do. And least you will know it has been done properly. But buy 3 bottles. I found 10L was not enough to get the fluid running perfect clear red.

Take it to Mitsu and they will powerflush it for about $200. Replaces about 95% of the old fluid and does wonders.

Really? i expected heaps more especially from Mitsu, sounds like a great deal, this might sound stupid but im guessing this is way better then if a normal mechanic does it? right?

Mitsu hook it up to a transmission flushing machine. Some mechanics may have this (doubt it) but any decent Transmission place should have one.

Ahh ok, the last mechanic i went to offered to do it ( a month or so ago) and he didnt seem to have anything special in his possesion apart from a few bottles of transmition oil + tools and filter LOL, so im thinking Mitsu is the way to go

just draining the fluid does not do ****, it has 2 be flushed because there is a **** load of fluid held in the torque converter that is nearly impossible 2 drain unless you remove it, i should know i'm a mechanic, and $130 is about the going rate for a trans flush, cheers, Nick

Everything Mitsu does is pricey!
If you could learn this yourself (the fact they are over-priced and trans flush is pritty easy) you save so much money....
However for a Transmission flush anything around $100-130 is normal, above that means your usually paying high fee's for the labour side of it.
If I cant be bothered doing it, I take it to a Auto specialist, I think he charges $110 with Mitsu oil.

The mitsubishi I went to did this, with some special Nulon flush treatment, where they put some special fluid in there first, or add it or something, and they use genuine mitsu oil. Althoguh my fluid had gone brown (no idea last time it was changed) it worked fine and pretty smooth, but did notice a difference after doing the flush.

Yeah, that's what I found. In fact I went through 17 litres (3 flushes) to get the fluid totally clear
