Hey guys,
I don't know alot about clutches etc.
But over the past few months my magna has started to shudder when I'm starting to engage the clutch to drive off or reverse but its only doing it every now and then.
I've spoken to a number of people and they all say my clutch is one its last legs.
I've decided that I'm gonna put a heavy duty in since I plan to do more work to the motor in the near future.
Anyhow I've been ringing around a couple of places getting prices and I rang one gearbox place and they warned me not to put a heavy duty in because the flywheels are very lightweight and won't be able to handle a heavy duty clutch and will shatter or crack.

It's a 2002 MY02 TJ Sports.

I really need some help/advice as I need to get it replaced before I go on Holidays on 2nd March to QLD.

Cheers Nathan.

I wouldnt bother going a heavy duty unless your gunna supercharge.... Or major NA work, But then again how do you drive the car ? like you stole it or? ***** foot? Do you tow?

I can't see a heavy duty destroying your flywheel though...

does it happen every time you drive off? when I had a busted engine mount it did it nearly all the time and it still does it occasionally with a new one, clutch still bites hard though because i can chirp second still.

Having a heavy duty clutch is not going to be a problem, as long as you allow the clutch to engage hard when changing gears or taking off.

depends on whether you like a smooth ride or a fun ride

most heavy duty clutches aren't that harsh and are quite comfy

I'm looking at doing some major N/A work and I do drive it abit hard every now and then the car normally sits in the driveway most days while I'm at work as I catch the train but I do enjoy driving it when I bring it out.

All my engine mounts were fine when last checked about 1 month ago and this has been going on for a couple.

It could be a warped pressure plate/flywheel causing the shudder you feel now.???
