the vrx i bought doesnt have the radio code in the books, so what are my options?
can i bypass that in anyway? and if not how easy to install another stock headunit from TJ's?
I think you can get codes from Mitsubishi dealer if you provide serial numbers, maybe VIN number etc, not totally sure. If not then installing another stock HU should be fairly easy, just take out console then the HU surround, then simply a matter or plugging new HU in basically. this is just working off what little i know about 2nd gens though, so i'd wait for someone who has more knowledge of audio+3rd gens

Hey mate
You just need to call up a Mitsu Dealership with your Full VIN number and they will give you the code over the phone, - some dealerships charge to give you the code just shop around till you find a dealership that doesnt or just pay the 10 - 15 bux they say. I got mine for nothing i just said i just bought the car privately and the prev owner didnt have the code (he didnt) some are pretty cool about it others were tight as.
Cheers mate and goodluck
