Hey all,

So works been a bit slack lately so ive been doin some thinking.................

I wanna to a TJ Bootlid conversion (i hav a TF) Now as i understand it from the other threads all that needs to be done is respray and change the locking mechanism to your key,

Now my question is: Is the lock change really nessecary? with the keyfob release i really dont see the need to have the lock itself changed. I was thinkin about bogging in the keyhole to smooth out the whole situation......

But then i thort How can i use bog to make my bootlid unique? then i got stuck

Any Ideas/comments appreciated

Kieran

If you read the TJ bootlid Conversion from the DIY mods link, I have answered most of the questions.

You have to take the boot lock out and have it recoded which only cost about $25.00
Else you just rely on your cable release lock. You should not try and swap locks from your TF, you only causing more problems for yourself.

There are some people who just cover the Key hole or even use the keyhole as a reversing camera. All up to you, My personal opinion is just do it that way as it doesnt devalue your car plus it works properly and doesnt cost much.

Good luck with your conversion.

or even use the keyhold as a reversing camera.

Ooooh, I like that idea. I have been trying to decide how to mount my reverse cam (when it arrives) and thats a good one!
