My drivers side top engine mount (is there another one on that side?) is on its way out. There are bits of rubber poking out everywhere, but no vibrations yet. The bolt looks easy enough to get to, I'm just after a price and part number, and also some advice. Is it safe to just jack the engine a bit from the bottom, then replace the mount, or should it be done another way altogether? Where is a safe spot to jack from, If its a good idea to do it of course.
Thanks, Aaron.

A block of wood on your jack under the sump is ok.... just be careful not to lift the car as you can collapse the sump onto the oil pickup inside the sump and starve you motor of oil.

Take the wieght of the motor.... undo mount... remove /replace.... All good!

How are the other mounts? My "old" KH Verada had a mount that shat itself by losing the fluid. Dealer replaced all of em at once, under warranty, as he said that was what Mr Bishi recommended.

Rather than replacing it with another rubber one, you could get it recast in polyurethane (http://martybugs.net/magna/mount.cgi). The polyurethane mounts are much more robust than the rubber mounts, and will (almost) last forever!

I had a mount for my U12 Pintara recast in polyurethane after replacing it about 6 times in 7 years (at a cost of $200+ per mount!).
When one of the mounts in my TJ magna started breaking apart, I did the same thing - and had it recast in polyurethane, with great results (almost eliminated wheel hop too).

Cheers,
Martin.

PM Megatron (http://www.aussiemagna.com/forums/private.php?do=newpm&u=135), he does the polly mounts in 2 hardnesses, have used both in a few cars, both auto and manual, can highly recommend them!!! And they are cheap, bout $120 or so from memory. Just pull the old mount out, press or cut the old rubber bit out and slide the 2 halves of the new mount in and bolt back onto the car.
