Hey guys, if this has been talked about before im sorry!
I cant remember who it was but on thursday when browsing on the mitsubishi club, i came across a magna with a 6 speed auto. Does anyone know any information about this, and how much of an advantage over the 4 speed. Any thoughts or opinions on this? Who was it, and how much does it cost? :D

Doesn't exist. Best they had was a 5 speed tiptronic and a 5 speed manual. The 5 speed tiptronic is much better than the 4 speed auto, but there is far too much required to upgrade from the 4 speed auto to the 5 speed tiptronic - believe me, I've looked into it.

$6,800 for the gearbox drive away. That said he has claimed 14.2 at 95MPH with some decent engine mods so the car sounds like it's off its head!

Not sure about the Outlander, but the Lancer actually has a CVT transmission that does not have gears as such. But in tiptronic mode, it has six preset points that it uses.

okies, since everyone is interested in my transmission lately I have decided to post up a brief explanation.
hope this answers the questions.
Okies,
I imported it from Europe, from Audi/Volkwagen, through a family member who works at Audi. The cost landed in Sydney was $7k.
I then had to get a tranny casing made, which promptly shat itself (due to manufacturing issues and the fact that it was too small), and I will not deal with the company that made it now.
My mechanic, one of his mates (who is a tranny specialist and builds racecar transmissions and gearboxes) and myself then sat down over some beers and came up with an idea to modify the mitsubishi casing to hold the six speed internals. This was done while we waited for a new 3rd and 6th, which were busted when the first casing imploded.
They did that and installed it. The next problem was cooling which was fixed with a tranny oil cooler.
After that it was all good and has been awesome ever since. It gives instant shifts and craps all over any manual box I have used.
Total Cost was about $10k. You could probably use another six speed if you want to reduce costs.
This is what his done.
