hey guys.
just fitted a new h/u (pioneer) and front splits in my g/fs ce lancer. not the first time ive dealt with a lancer but this time i rewired the doors with thicker wiring. pretty sure i did everything fine, soldered the h/u plug into the audio loom, every wire has a wire-shrink over the solder and then everything is wrapped with electrical tape. i also disconnected the battery before even pulling it apart.
now the issues.
left side has a quiet but annoying high-pitched buzzing sound coming out of the woofer and tweeter when the ignition is in "ON" position. i tried disconnecting the input on the crossover, no music came out, just the buzzing. im aware that the ECU is located behind the glovebox where the wiring to the doors gets run through. i havent had this issue with my magna even though the setup is the same. my guess is that the wiring is getting interference from the ECU? any suggestions on that?
another thing is that i ran the car still for a couple of minutes and it idled fine. when my g/f took it away apparently she couldnt accelerate and power steering died about 2 minutes after leaving my house. she switched the car off and started it again and it ran fine. i took it for a drive around the block and didnt find any issues with it. does the lancer have the same ECU "re-learning" thing as the magna? and if thats the case has anyone come across the car cutting out?
hoping to get some replies and solve this.
thanks
Alex
