I REALISED The Headlight FAQ is no longer available could mods, admin please dig it back up?

There used to be a thread written by heathyoung stating whats good whats bad.

Ultimately you should be using Halogen lights not Xenon. Otherwise it involves expensive HID conversions.

If you are using standard headlights at the moment, you should just stick to normal halogen ones, I suggest Osram or Philips globes.

Naturally you are thinking also whether you want white light. And to be honest your visability is reduced. However if you do decided to go down the path of using white lights. I suggest you should get Crystal Visions or Diamond Visions. Note many has mentioned these are not legal, but I never had any issues when ever I been stopped for breath test for over 2 year period using Diamond Visions.

The "Play Safe" globes by Philips are using Blue Visions which I gurantee you will not see White light at all so is a Waste of money. You rather just speand it on Vision Plus if thats the case.

It is unfortunate that the Headlight FAQ is gone as it does speak off the disadvantages of using White light globes. You are highly recommended not to get over wattage globes as it can melt parabolics lights turning clear to yellow. I never mentioned about using Narva as I had an AMC member having that happening using the 50% plus globes.

You should also plan whether you ultimately want to change your headlights to parabolics or staying with standard headlights. It is said that even though the Parabolics looks nicer, however the standard headlights project better light than the parabolics.

Standard 3rd Gen Magnas
Low beams -> H4
High beams -> H1

Have a read on the parabolic thread as well. PLEASE TAKE NOTE: the H1 globes are attached to a HOLDER DO not get confuse by this.

I had my parras converted to xenon, only cost me 180 including ballasts & globes H7 i.e low beam only (8500k, nice blue light) sounds really cheap but i had them for about a year still going strong, i installed them myself. I had xenon on my standard lights aswell they definately give better perfomnce then parras but looks are more important to me.

Its a MASSIVE impovement from standard globes in either case (parras or not) worth the money in my opinion. AND YES its illegal so you will have to take a chance of being defected.
