I realised about a month ago that my handbrake on my TH wasn't working at all so I booked my car in for a service (and to fix the handbrake)... when i picked it up the guy said that he had re-adjusted the brakes cos they were out of wack... anyways later that afternoon about half way thru the Old Pac i heard this weird noise like something was slightly touching the disk I took it back to the guy the next week and got my injectors cleaned and mentioned about the problem and he told me that in magnas there always is a slight rubbing and its normal..... :?
Just wanted to check with other peeps to see if it was normal or if this guy is lazy ...
Ta :)
he's lazy.....well sort of....all brakes rub, the pads are always touching the disc....but when u can hear them / slash feel that they are rubbing, then they are too close to the discs......

My Rear brakes make the same noise your describing. A friends Magna also does the same and they had theirs checked and was told it was normal also.
Having worked in the rental car business and having seen heaps of Magna's do the same, I have to say its a normal thing for a Magna. Not really sure if theres a way to fix it, but its very very common anyway. :(

I had this same problem also. After putting up with it for 30,000km, the dealer finally fitted "modified hand brake shoes" under warranty - no more squeaking. Maybe Mitsubishi has figured out a solution to this common problem :?:

I had posted this in another post.My brakes where making a noise which i put down to the handbrake.Took it to the dealer to be looked out and they just cleaned out the excess dust thru the handbrake inspection hole. The said that is normanly as far as they go as they have found if they start pulling things apart the noise will never go away and become worse. Something to do with the brake shoe, as it is shaped like a big C.
