As you are all aware when you turn on your parkers or headlights the climate back lit display dims accordingly, however the trip computer (TJ 01 Advance) does not dim, this looks silly and unbalanced.

Every time I drive it at night I wish the climate display would remain bright like the trip computer, I wonder if the wiring which causes the dimming is in the climate control unit or the head light switch?

I don't like to interfere with things but if there was a way of keeping the climate display at the normal (lights off) brightness at night it would be great.

:stoopid: Both of mine dim (stereo too in my case, I'm not lazy, I wired it up), and so does every other 3rd gen I've got into. Maybe you should pull the trip comp out and check the connections on the top of it, might be a loose connection somewhere.

Probably a bad connection in the trip computer, I'd rather stop the Climate display from dimming, I think it is too dim, would look much better if it was brighter.

Well the only way I can see to fix that is work out which of the 30 wires going in to the climate is the dimmer, and chop it. Best of luck working out which one lol

I'd be interested in this too, but for a different reason. I drive with my lights on most of the time (yes, during the day, habit I seem to have picked up from my dad) and it is annoying that it dims.

And like the others both the trip and climate dim for me.

30 wires  I'd want to pick the right one, but it probably is the only way, thanks guys.
