Can i only get genuine mits transmission oil from mitsubishi, or somewhere else as well?
and how much do they cost, how many litres do i need to change the tranny oil.
Had my transmission oil serviced in my mechanic, but he didnt put the mits stuff in it, although gear changes are allright, but i just dont like it.

its around 32-35 bucks a bottle and you need around 8l or so for a complete change, and yes you can only get it from mitsi.

5 ltres in a bottle
you change the auto oil once a year minimum
filter
you can change the oil from the drain points
some do power flushes
dont run the auto box oil less or dry may cause internal dammage
the torque converter will always hold some oil

use the oil out line to the tranny cooler to pump out oil while you pour in new oil, do 1L at a time.

Here's a bit of a reference for you:
One change recommended by most people is that you should move step 5 back until you're about to do step 9 so that you do it as:
1, 2, 3, 4, 6, 7, 8 [3, 4, 6, 7, 8 > 3, 4, 6, 7, 8 (till clean)], 5, 9, 10, 11, 12, 13, 14, 15
If you do it the way it's written you're flushing crud into your brand new filter where you're better off keeping it in the old filter / flushing it out.

Yeah that's what I did the last time I did a flush.
Also I reckon you buy yourself 3 X 5 litre bottles. I found that if you did it follwoing the instructions you were left with 1.5 litres leftover. And if you oil is just a little bit grottier than usual that 1.5 litre buffer is not enough if you need to flush the system another time.
When I bought my Transmission Fluid from Mitsubishi, the parts guy told me that Castrol make the oil, others have suggested that BP make it. Whatever the case, Mitsubishi do not make it, it is made by someone else to Mitsubishi Specifications, if your mechanic has used a Mitsubishi compatible fluid then you are wasting your money changing it. If your mechanic hasn't used a Mitsubishi compatible fluid, then you have the right to ask him to rectify the situation and use the correct fluid.

im pretty sure it wasnt castrol or BP...he ordered the bottle specially for my car, but its a in a brand bottle i never heard of(some high premium grade transmission oil) . atm it just takes 1/2 sec longer to engage d when i select it.
I guess the point I'm trying to make is that you have paid good money to have a job done properly, and you have the right to piece of mind that your transmission will be ok. I would go and talk to the mechanic about your concerns, get the name of the fluid he used, then you can contact the manufacturer yourself and put your mind at rest. If it's the wrong stuff, then he can do the job again at his cost (not yours). I just changed out my fluid with stuff I bought from Mitsubishi, it still has a long delay between Reverse and Drive, using fluid from Mitsubishi may or may not solve your problem. Is the fluid level ok?
But should you chose to do it, the stuff is cheapest at Mitsubishi and you will have piece of mind, and do flush it. :)

Try ringing around, I found that the genuine mitsu tranny fluid is actually cheaper (from mitsu) than the others are. :D

There are several companies who make the fluid. It is used in a few transmissions.
If I can get the mits bottle I generally do but some of the other good brands like Fuches are also excellent. My rada had an average trans, I used the Fuches and found the shifts inproved.
