I just got my 12" Subwoower today. It is an Alpine Type S, 250rms. Not the loudest and badest, but should sound nice enough.
Im hoping that I will get it installed tonight!

nice, what amp is running it

I already have an amp installed. I'm currently running a 8" sub behind the front seats. The amp is a Boss AB250, 4x350watts, 4 channel.

Nice choice mate, I broke one within about 2 days... your amp should be pretty safe as long as you don't start clipping it though. Cool lookin sub IMO.

if you manage to find one the ported alpine box that was brought out with a type r and amp package will make that sub sound 100% better

Thats actually not too bad, I haven't heard it running, but I know that same amp and sub in a genuine Clarion box (moulded in the back to house the amp) is $369, so $219 in that funny box is pretty good I reckon, I might go check it out myself, its gotta be better than no sub haha.
Edit* Considering Epping Autobarn actually has one out of the box on the shelf, I might ask them to wire it up and show us what its actually capable of :P

My thinking exactly, a little extra bass would be very nice, and since I don't have a lot of money atm this would fit the bill for a while.

Thats the same amp I run my type s splits with! Pretty good amp, doesn't get heaps hot, I think it has a fan built in. My V Power mono amp doesnt even have a fan.

Does anyone know a place where they might already have one of these subbies wired up? I'm going to go into Autobarn monday to have a look, but just incase. Alternatively, I know they have a Clarion SRW1251 in the soundboard, would that be comparable to the SB12XB, which is the driver on sale atm?

Both are 12" single 4 Ohm subs, only difference I can note is the one on sale is a 300w RMS sub and the 1251 is 400w RMS. As far as quality goes though, could you presume that if the 1251 sounds decent on that sort of power the 12XB should? I hate car audio, is too complicated haha.
