Try "Race Brakes" in North Melbourne. Call Howard Reynolds on 9326 6088.

Go to the DBA shop themselves and cut out the middle man, much cheaper

any half decent auto shop should be able to source DBA rotors etc. aka Supercheap, autobarn, repco can all get them. And with buying them direct from DBA theres a good chance that they wont let you as you require an account with them.

hey, thanks for the responses all, I ended up going into better brakes and picked it all up! although i didnt end up needing them... seems the mechanic who did my fronts brakes was lying to me about the back ones needing to be done! cos when my mate took the wheels off, the rotors and pads were not very old! the problems arent the brake as i was told, so not only would the mechanic have done my brakes, he would have then suggested all this other stuff needed to be done, when i went back... mhmmm... im angry!!!

thanks though people!

When my car went into get the 200,000km major service with timing belt etc the mechanic told me my front brakes were 90% gone and the backs were 70% gone, pulled off the wheels and they are all fine!
they have like 90% pad left on all of them....
he lost my business for that.

Pistons Auto Parts cnr Power road and Barry Street. Ask for Tim or Paul (the owner), tell him that Mal (with the green XT) sent you, you are from the Magna Club and he will take care of you. This goes for all AMC members.

I am in ringwood east if you need anything done also.

Are you sure he said 90% gone or 90% left. I always tell people how much is left and roughly under normal driving how long they should ahve to go. If the customer is present I will also show him/her what I am talking about.

thanks for that mal, appreciate it  and the same wombat, both places ive taken the car too so far, have lost my business... and this mechanic i took it too (from a big franchise chain aswell mind you...) def said, my rear brake pads had only less than 1/3 left and would need to be done soon, and it was upto me whether they did them now (after forking out $230 for new front rotors only) but did i even need those?? well... guess ill never know lol

nope he wrote on my invoice the fan belt will need to be replaced before the next service, which it did, and that my fron pads were 90% gone and my backs 70% gone and will need replacing before next service, he also left a quote to get the brakes done on the invoice..

Goes to show how much these places need business, must be the high level of service and interrity that they offer customers.

As stated, if you want a honest person to fix your car, pm me. :D
